Welcome!

I was led to Senegal, West Africa this summer by the grace of God. I was able to live there for 6 weeks thanks to many of my friends and family who supported me. Without them, this trip would not have been possible and I am forever grateful. This blog is a collection of my thoughts, experiences, and pictures while in Senegal. Hope you enjoy!

What is blogging?

Blogging is just one of the many informal ways to voice one's opinion and make it available for anyone to read and to comment on. The first blog I read, entitled the best is yet ahead, is a blog that's more like a public journal. It entails stories and experiences from the bloggers life, as well as his opinion on different subjects. In one of his blogs he's explaining the story of how he proposed to his fiance, and he even has her put her story on the blog for the readers. He also adds pictures in many of his blogs for the viewers to get an even better picture of what he's describing. I enjoyed reading this blog, but it may have only been because I know the blogger and enjoy hearing his stories and opinions.

Whereas the first blog was more for the entertainment of the readers, the second blog I read, entitled Feministe, reports more factual statements rather than personal thoughts and opinions. The blogger does include some of her own opinions in the blog, but she uses cold hard facts to support her point of view. Based on these two blogs, I've learned that there is no right or wrong way to blog. Each blogger has a different style of blogging and different intrests to blog on, as well as different opinions on each subject they choose to write about. I enjoyed reading both blogs.
